Compact McMulti-133 Inline Multi-Port Adapter – Breakthrough Small-Flange Feedthrough Solution

This ultra-compact multi-port adapter mounts inline on a standard 1.33" (DN16 / CF133) ConFlat flange, delivering 1–6 Swagelok-style compression fittings sized for 1/8" stainless steel tubing (or equivalent). Its low-profile design (significantly smaller than our popular McMulti2-4-90) provides maximum flexibility for dense porting on miniature or space-constrained UHV chambers.

Novel Capabilities: Electrical Power & Optical Passthrough

This compact adapter opens powerful new applications beyond basic gas or fluid lines:

High-Current Electrical Power via Kapton® Insulated Wire Kapton-insulated wires are a proven choice for UHV environments due to their excellent thermal stability (up to 450°C+), low outgassing, high dielectric strength, and mechanical robustness.

  • Pass single or multiple Kapton wires through individual Swagelok ports.
  • Suitable for moderate-to-high current applications (current capacity depends on wire gauge, length, and bundling—e.g., conductors rated for several amps continuous in vacuum, with derating for thermal management). No contact losses means more power headroom.
  • Sealing achieved via compression fittings with appropriate ferrules or epoxy/potting for semi-permanent vacuum integrity.

Zero-Junction Optical Fiber Passthrough Optical fibers can be fed directly through the Swagelok ports for seamless, low-loss light transmission into the vacuum chamber.

  • Supports single-mode, multi-mode, or fiber bundles (typically up to ~400–1000 µm diameter depending on fitting clearance).
  • Seamless fiber passthrough with zero junctions reduce insertion loss, reflection, and alignment issues—ideal for laser delivery, spectroscopy, sensing, or imaging applications.
  • Use Swagelok Ultra-Torr vacuum-rated fittings or custom ferrules for reliable sealing. Multiple ports allow independent fiber routing.
